Biografia
Michael Ben David è nato il 26 Luglio 1996 a Ascalona. Ccresciuto a Petah Tikva, nell’area metropolitana di Tel Aviv, Michael Ben è figlio di padre di origine georgiana e di madre con radici russo-ucraine, ed è il secondo di cinque fratelli e sorelle.
Dopo il servizio di leva obbligatorio, ha iniziato a prendere lezioni di recitazione.
Carriera
Michael Ben David è salito alla ribalta nel 2021, prendendo parte e vincendo la quarta edizione del talent show The X Factor Israel, dove ha avuto come coach Netta Barzilai.
Eurovision Song Contest 2022
La vittoria a X Factor lo porta a rappresentare il paese all’Eurovision Song Contest a Torino. Il suo brano eurovisivo, I.M, è stato scelto dal pubblico e preferito al suo altro inedito Don’t.
Tuttavia il 12 aprile 2022 l’emittente pubblica israeliana responsabile della partecipazione, IPBC, ha annunciato che la partecipazione del paese alla manifestazione europea è in sospeso a causa di uno sciopero indetto dai lavoratori del servizio di sicurezza nazionale GSS che ha reso impossibile inviare una delegazione a Torino.
